‘True Blood’ season 7: First look at Anna Paquin, Joe Manganiello, partial cast
As we get closer and closer to the “True Blood” season 7 premiere on Sunday, June 22, this only means one thing: An opportunity to see more promotional material!
Today, we are here with something as simple as the first photo from the new season, which shows Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin), her brother Jason (Ryan Kwanten), Sam Merlotte (Sam Trammell), Sheriff Andy (Chris Bauer), and Alcide (Joe Manganiello) all looking at something potentially-ominous. It’s a nice photo to see the gang together again, but it’s not exactly like there is anything else that we can take from this. This is HBO. Did you really think that they were going to give something away that was pretty substantial? We got a better sense yesterday in regards to just how secretive they are being about the fate of Eric Northman, who was shown to be in grave danger at the end of season 6 after spending a little too much time in the sun.
The series has its work cut out for them entering their final season. Not only do they have to find a way to solve this whole “diseased vampire” story (a.k.a. The Walking True Blood), but they have to give closure for everything from Sookie’s personal life to Sam’s uncertain future to whether or not Bill can finally learn to be a good person again after his walk on the dark side. There is also the mystery regarding what Sarah Newlin’s status will be on the show moving forward. We know that we will meet some of her family, but is this enough to make her turn up again at some point?
