‘Once Upon a Time’ season 3, episode 20 preview: Dorothy, Glinda, and the Wicked Witch

There was all sorts of great stuff on tonight’s “Once Upon a Time” season 3 episode, and it sets the stage for all sorts of great entertainment to come up next week. We’re going to see in particular the arrival of one character that all fans of the show may be excited to see: Dorothy!

That’s right: We are finally going to get a chance to meet the lead heroine from “The Wizard of Oz,” though there are still many questions related to just what sort of role she has in this story. Is she part of the solution to destroying Zelena? We have to hope so, since this is sort of late in the game to introduce her otherwise. As a matter of fact, when you think about it, we actually thought for a while that she was going to be another character in disguise.

Nonetheless, the episode coming up is entitled “Kansas,” and that is a pretty strong clue as to where we are going here. While we don’t want to say that we are going to make a full-on trip to Oz like we did to Neverland in this past season of the show, we are going to at least see much more of the mythology there than we have previously. Hopefully, the show is also going to take advantage of the opportunity here to answer what is a particularly burning question for us: Who is ruling Oz with the Wizard gone? Walsh was basically nothing more than a flying monkey at the end of his tale.
