‘Ink Master’ season 4, episode 10 preview: Jay shows his gentle side to Melissa
We’ve had so many double eliminations (plus Kyle Dunbar leaving the show the same night Lydia was eliminated) that we didn’t see anyone go home on the last episode of “Ink Master” season 4. This season has been filled with twists and turns and even though the last episode was a bit of a freebie for Gentle Jay and Melissa (who found themselves in the bottom), the competition will be amping up again next week.
There will be no flash challenge in the next new episode, and the final 6 artists will be tested on their “flexibility” (which is pretty much the same as when they were tested on their “adaptability” if you ask us.) What’s really cool about this challenge is that the artists will get to work on open canvases who will allow the artists to tattoo anything they want. So what’s the catch? They will be working in pairs and will tag team out every hour as they work on the same canvas on the same tattoo.
No one wants to work with Gentle Jay. He has some great ideas and creates pretty good tattoos, but the rest of the artists are a lot more advanced then him… at least when it comes to flexibility. On the last episode of “Ink Master” we saw Gentle Jay get a very difficult client and he was not able to really adapt to the situation, so on a flexibility challenge where anything and everything can go wrong, he’s a bit of a wild card.
The canvases will be randomly assigned and Gentle Jay will be paired up with Melissa. Immediately sour puss spread across her face and Gentle Jay tried to not only reassure her that they will do a great job together, but also that a smile will help their canvas feel more confident in them. It was a side of Gentle Jay that we haven’t seen and we liked it!
