‘Face Off’ season 6 finale preview: George, Rashaad, and Tyler fight to become champion
Syfy’s “Face Off” is that competition show that you don’t always hear a lot about, but once you start watching it, you become hooked to the point where you can’t stop. While some of the challenges get repetitive, the creativity that it asks of its artists every week is pretty astounding.
But after a fairly long season (at least by reality competition standards), the show is coming to an end on Syfy Tuesday night in an episode that will force the three artists to do something that really calls back to the network’s own slogan of “imagine greater”: Having to create alien rivals. There’s an element of performance in here, there are multiple tasks, and you also have to create your best makeups of the entire season to have a real shot at winning.
The other good thing about this finale is that we don’t quite believe that there is necessarily a runaway favorite. Tyler has won the most challenges, but to counteract that, he has also been in the bottom more than Rashaad. George has at least been among the judges’ favorites just as many times as Tyler, and nobody has been in the bottom more than two times. If that doesn’t scream consistency, then almost nothing will with this show.
For those of you pondering over the show’s future and whether or not this will be your last chance to catch the show in action before the finale, have no fear: “Face Off” has already been renewed for a seventh season. The next batch of new episodes will air at some point later this year. (For a reality show, this one doesn’t really allow for that much of a break.)
