‘How I Met Your Mother’ season 9, episode 21 preview: Barney’s Gary Blauman problem

Can you believe that there are only four episodes left of “How I Met Your Mother“? As crazy of a thought as that may be, it’s true. The only thing potentially crazier to us at the moment is thinking about the fact that one of these final four installments is revolving around the Gary Blauman character.

First of all, let’s preface this by saying that Taran Killam is awesome, and we love the work that he brings to every show that he is involved with. But, Gary is still not someone who we would consider to be a top 5 guest star. The producers obviously have something up their sleeve with bringing him back, and it is so secretive that we do not know the majority of intention just yet.

At least the promo below is funny, as we see Barney declare that it is his intention on this wedding weekend to do just about everything in his power to ensure that he kicks Gary out of his wedding. It has actually been a good while since we have even seen the character on the show, which to us suggests that there is something far greater here than what meets the eye. Maybe Gary ends up indirectly causing a problem at the wedding, or is a smokescreen for a story that is much more important. With only two hours of show left including commercials, we don’t see there being much time here wasted at all.
