‘Two and a Half Men’ season 11, episode 15 review: Did Alan get engaged?
Romance was the name of the game on Thursday night’s “Two and a Half Men” episode … even if most of these romances are not exactly ones that went off without a hitch.
Instead, what we saw here was Alan completely having a planned proposal to Lyndsey blow up in his face, as he was rejected by her, and therefore promptly went to see Judith in an effort to connect with someone … anyone. The two got drunk, and he used the engagement ring Walden gave to him in order to pop the question.
It was nice to see Judith return after an extended period of time away, just as it was nice for a brief minute to actually get why the two were ever in love in the first place. After all, neither one of these people completely hated each other at one point in their lives, and they genuinely thought that there was a way to get some of that back … very briefly.
Obviously, things aren’t going to work out for these two, and Alan is right back where he started. At least there were a few decent belly laughs in here, and some nice callbacks to early on in the show’s run when it was still considered to be somewhat edgy.
Meanwhile, the only other significant story this time (given that Ashton Kutcher was paid more than $700,000 to really do nothing this week) was seeing Jenny have some worries that her girlfriend Brooke wanted to leave her. Why? She has been away quite a bit, and very distant in their relationship. There was a moment of nice payoff in the end, but we still cannot really embrace this story yet since Jenny basically seems like she’s in a cycle of doing the same stuff over and over again. Grade: B-.
