‘Girls’ season 4: What could Adam Driver’s ‘Star Wars’ casting mean to HBO job?
However, we do have to ask the question now as a major TV fan: Does Adam’s new casting mean that he will not be around to romance Hannah Horvath anymore? Adam is of course a series regular on “Girls,” and has even been an Emmy nominee for his role.
Given that we have already seen Christopher Abbott leave the show, it’s not unheard of that other cast members could eventually leave. However, we have a hard time thinking that Driver would not be a part of the universe, even if he is not around for every episode. Remember that this is a guy who has gotten an opportunity to work the past few years with the Coen Brothers, Steve Spielberg, Noah Baumbach, and other impressive directors while keeping his job with HBO. He’s clearly figured out already how to balance that schedule, and it may have something to do with his overall commitment to his craft. Driver is not a guy you see out on the party scene, and he, like a few other stars from the show, is not active on social media. (Zosia Mamet, Andrew Rannells, and Lena Dunham are the only ones we consider to be extremely active.)
So until there is some sort of announcement out there saying otherwise, expect to see Adam firmly planted within the “Girls” family.
