‘American Idol’ XIII results preview: Are Sam Woolf, Majesty Rose locks to advance?
There are many episodes of “American Idol” every season that we tend to love, but the results show right before the reveal of the top 12-13 is one of our favorites year in and year out. This is, after all, where the lineup is chosen as to who is going to be moving forward on the show, and then who is going to be sent packing thanks to both America and potentially a wild-card performance round where people leave everything on the stage.
Let’s start things off here with the guys, since they mostly did a great job last night. Sam Woolf, Alex Preston, Spencer Lloyd (pimp spot), and Ben Briley (given that America has already voted for him once) are four of the most-likely contenders, and we feel like the fifth one is a little up in the air. We’d like to see it go to CJ Harris, but that is not assured. He and Caleb Johnson, if not picked by America, are almost sure to be asked to sing again along with George Lovett and Malcolm Allen, who we feel could also be forgotten by voters.
As for the ladies, we’re going to say that Malaya Watson, M.K. Nobilette, and Majesty Rose are the three locks thanks to their great performances. Jessica Meuse will likely be asked to give another performance if she is not put through, and so could darkhorse Jena Irene. The women are going to be a little more unpredictable this time than the guys, mostly because we feel like the men were easily the better of the two groups this time around.
We feel like if this pattern holds, then the three wildcards will most likely be two men and a woman; and from there, the great part of the competition can begin.

I usually follow Idol, but I’ve been put off by the format and outright cruelty in the process. I was hoping for a new and improved Idol this season, but it is falling way short. What’s new and improved about Randy Jackson? I don’t see a bright new star in the boys, and especially not in the girls. Very sad.
