‘American Idol XIII’ video: First look at Adam Lambert, Chris Daughtry’s return!
“American Idol” had itself a pretty darn suspenseful night Thursday, as we finally had an opportunity to fully learn just who is going to be advancing to the next stage of the competition in the top 30. However, at the same time we saw some pretty surprising cuts, including a guy in David Oliver Willis who actually made it into the live shows last week without getting a ton of airtime in the process.
So where does the journey go from here? Apparently, into a pretty surprising place. The singers are all going to prepare to perform next week in hopes of making it all the way to the next part of the competition, which will be the top 13 that marks when things begin to truly get exciting.
Let’s start with the amazing part of this promo below: More Adam Lambert and Chris Daughtry! We’ve said it before, and we will continue to say it: There are no better singers out there to really showcase what this show is made of. They are both extremely talented, and have proven time and time again that they really know more than anyone just what it takes to get through this experience and be a true star on the other side.
Now, we turn to the confusing part. What is really going on when it comes to some of these cuts? It’s not entirely clear just when they are going to be going down. Also, it’s a little bit unclear just how in the world Randy Jackson is going to help anything. Just remember his critique on Haley Reinhart’s “Earth Song,” or his constant proclamations of people who were not as amazing as he seems to think.

Unfortunately I can’t get away from the comparison of, is this person as good as Adam. IMO there never is, so I stop watching. I will watch when Adam or someone of interest is a guest. But he pretty much set the bar so high that I just don’t enjoy the show any longer. I also can’t stand JLo as a judge. I like her as an actress, but she never really says anything meaningful .

Are ADAM & Chris going to be on both nights? I hope so … am curious to see what this ‘boot camp’ is all about … should be interesting … hope it’s also entertaining … judging from some of the comments here the better singers were sent home … perhaps they are looking for raw talent that can be molded?? JMO
In any case … can’t wait to see ADAM again. THANX! for the promo vid …

Well Matt I’m still in shock. Who is making the decisions as to who stays and who goes? So far I’ve seen, in my opinion, 4 of best male singers go home and a couple of females but they keep Briston? His solo performance was horrific. He wasn’t in tune the whole performance and I saw judges faces cringing. So what the heck is going on unless the producers want a bunch of kids in the Top 10. DavidOliverWillis and Savion were/are the two best male singers this season. All that happened tonight at least on twitter was hundreds of ppl tweeting their disappointment in who was cut and who is staying. After Adam and Chris mentoring episodes are over I won’t be tuning in to see this train wreck continue.
