‘American Idol XIII’ video: Jillian Jensen hopes to advance into next round

Remember Jillian Jensen? If you have watched a good many Fox reality shows over the past two years, you probably do. She first was a part of “The X Factor” season 2, and was eliminated right before it got to the live rounds in what may have been one of the most controversial decisions out there from Demi Lovato.

But then, when you think about it, Demi may have done her a favor. Why? She’s now a stronger singer, and getting a chance to be on a show with a much larger reach in “American Idol.” The video below features her performing an original song, and also expressing her hope that she will be good enough to make it past the Green Mile and into some of the live parts of the competition.

On the basis of talent alone, we feel like Jillian’s got a really good shot of making it there. The only thing that we somewhat wonder right now is if the judges or even producers will hesitate to put her through. There are only so many contestants that get a chance to perform on the show, and she already has a built-in audience that could help her out the first few rounds. Then again, a nice counterpoint to that and evidence that “American Idol” really puts talent first and foremost is Thia Megia, who was on “America’s Got Talent” before this show.
