‘The Bachelor’ review: Clare Crawley, Juan Pablo Galavis, and an ocean of confusion
Welcome to the most confusing episode of “The Bachelor” ever, where things that make little to no sense continue to dominate. What is the reason for this? It all comes back to the guy handing out roses, and the truth of the matter is that Juan Pablo may very well by the worst Bachelor in the history of the show. Yep, even more so than Ben Flajnik or Brad Womack.
His treatment of Clare Crawley tonight is a big reason why. Did the two go a little far with their makeout session in the ocean? Maybe, but you cannot really blame her for going for it, given that she is trying to win the guy over, and spending time with him is an easy way to do that. Plus, it’s not her responsibility to be “fair” to the other women, and Juan Pablo had no problem with it at the time. Heck, he even had no problem with it the next day while out with Nikki Ferrell for a yawn-inducing date. It was like his dirty little secret that he had a chance to be cheeky about.
He only seemed to really be upset about it spontaneously at the cocktail party, almost like a producer had put the idea in his brain to address something that could make him look bad. Of course, Clare was confused, and this continues the trend of Juan Pablo flip-flopping his way through the season. She didn’t disrespect his daughter to the same extent that he may have. Crazy.
We could spend most of this article talking about the dates … but there is no fun in that at all. They are boring, unless you consider Renee Oteri finally getting her first kiss with him to be interesting. The editing is just as predictable as it always has been, and there’s nothing that exciting about it. When you have an unlikable Bachelor, it drags everything down. This show just doesn’t have that campy fun feeling this season. We’ll stick with it, but it’s harder when you really don’t feel that connected to anyone. Part of us roots for Sharleen just because of how awkward and at times funny it is.
The only people to go home this week were, quite frankly, people that you probably did not care that much about. Kelly and Danielle had at least a little bit of screentime, and we have no clue who Alli is. At least Juan Pablo seemed genuinely emotional at the end of this, and that’s something . We guess. Grade: C-.

First time I watched all season after having watched all the previous Bachelor shows. The best thing about it was that it was filmed in beautiful Hoi An and Da Nang Vietnam! JP is a total hypocrite and a jerk! I won’t be watching again!

No just a typical guy doing the nasty and then blaming the consequences on the girl.

I think Juan Pablo is a sociopath.
