‘The Vampire Diaries’ star Nina Dobrev joins Aaron Paul, others in Super Bowl weekend tradition
There are many events that tend to happen every year right around the Super Bowl … and you really cannot be surprised by any of them. After all, there are many traditions that come with this big game, whether they include random parties that keep people awake until four in the morning, or media day sessions for the athletes that basically turn into a bona fide circus.
One of the bigger traditions for many of the stars every year is the Celebrity Beach Bowl, which we otherwise refer to as one of the big opportunities for many of them to feel like they are playing in the Super Bowl … minus the part where people get hurt. As a way to remedy that, they engage in flag football (which still really isn’t that safe, speaking as someone who broke a clavicle playing it). It’s mostly just an opportunity have fun, meet new people, and enjoy being in the city hosting the big game.
Among the stars who took part in the game this year (held at Hudson River Park) included, per a release from event sponsor DirecTV, the following: Chrissy Teigen (Sports Illustrated Model/Television Host), Adam Pally (The Mindy Project), Shay Mitchell (Pretty Little Liars), Scott Porter (Hart of Dixie), Meghan Markle (Suits), Chace Crawford (Gossip Girl), Nina Dobrev (The Vampire Diaries), Jaimie Alexander (Thor: The Dark World), Peter Facinelli (Nurse Jackie), Tom Arnold (Comedian/Actor), Tracy Morgan (Comedian/Actor), Hannah Davis (Sports Illustrated Model), Cole Hauser (Rogue), Kevin Frazier (The Insider), Rocsi Diaz (Entertainment Tonight), Artie Lange (The Artie Lange Show) and Guy Fieri (Rachael vs. Guy: Celebrity Cook-Off).
Super Bowl XLVIII will be held on Sunday night, and it is going to once-again be the most-watched TV event of the entire year by a pretty wide margin. The only real irony here is that the game this year features two teams from the western half of the United States, and it is being held in an east-coast venue.
