2014 Grammys: Daft Punk, Stevie Wonder, Pharrell Williams create pure awesomeness
If there is a winner for Most Fun Performance of the Night on the 2014 Grammy Awards, to us, it is almost undisputed: Daft Punk. These guys not only won multiple awards on the night for their hit song “Get Lucky,” which is a collaboration with Pharrell Williams and Nile Rodgers.
But for this Grammy performance, the group found a way to make this into something even more entertaining and fantastic: Give Stevie Wonder a key part to play. The legendary singer joined the crew for what ended up being a hodgepodge performance in many ways of various eras, songs, and samplings. The guys from Daft Punk (complete with their robot helmets) were not even present on stage until the second half of the performance, but they seemed to have a very good time.
This is the sort of performance that really does make the Grammys stand out versus some of the other top awards shows out there: Their performances here are on another level compared to any other awards show! This is something that could have literally gone on for the whole night, and we would not have had any problem with it at all.
Even away from Daft Punk, this turned out to be an enormous Grammys night for Pharrell; after all, he ended up winning Producer of the Year. He was also up against himself at times tonight, thanks to his role in “Blurred Lines” by Robin Thicke.
