Fox moves ‘Enlisted’ to 9:00 after ‘Bones’ season 9; smart move?
Now that Fox has actually realized that people out there really seem to enjoy its new military comedy “Enlisted,” they are actually putting forth at least a little bit of effort to try to keep it on the air.
It was confirmed today that the show will be moving forward a half-hour on the schedule, and is set to air the rest of the season starting at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time after “Bones” season 9. While this is only a tiny change, it is a valuable one. No show on Friday night is considered to necessarily be an enormous hit, but Emily Deschanel and company do at least have a dedicated following of people who will check out their show week in and week out.
We do genuinely believe that this move will help “Enlisted” out some, but this is a show that still has an uphill battle ahead for it to be renewed for another season. It’s hard for any comedy at 9:00 to succeed on a Friday, mostly because the majority of young, comedy-loving people are all out and doing other things beyond just being at home. The other interesting question is what this means to “Raising Hope,” which is being now moved over to 9:30. It may not be what most fans of that show want to hear, but this is basically a nail in the coffin for it. There is no real way that this show will be back for another go-around; really, we feel like the only reason it had a season 4 to begin with was so that it could make it to that syndication threshold that so many were hoping to see it at.
What do you think: Will this move help, or is this a comedy that is probably just meant to have its last laugh a little later in the spring? Share your thoughts below, and click here if you want to sign up to get email updates straight from us!
