‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 5 spoilers: Ian Somerhalder in ‘The Devil Inside’

Who is ready for a new “Vampire Diaries” mystery? If so, then why not try your hardest to figure out what in the world is going on in the attached image? This photo is from “The Devil Inside,” which is the show’s January 30 episode that is going to be following up the key 100th episode of the show.

Here’s the basic context of the photo: Damon (Ian Somerhalder) getting very close to Nadia (Olga Fonda), but the context of this is still a little bit unclear. What’s going on here? Is Damon getting ready to strike? She looks a little uncomfortable to say the least.

The reason that the second part of this season (at least to us) remains so exciting is because there is still such a tremendous sense of ambiguity about it. You really don’t know what is going to happen. From one standpoint, you have the mystery of Katherine, who is going to be entering the 100th episode in a state of desperation and may or may not make it to the other side alive. Then, you have the revolving door of relationships. You don’t know whether or not some people (see Damon and Elena) are going to figure things out with each other, and then you also have the return of Tyler Lockwood, and some other drama that is going to come out of that courtesy of everything that has gone on with him and Caroline since the start of the show.

Finally, there’s that title … and you have to imagine that “The Devil Inside” was designed to mean something…
