‘Bones’ season 10 near renewal; however, will likely be end
This is ultimately a case of both good news and bad news for longtime fans of “Bones.” While you may be very pleased to know that your favorite show is going to be continuing for a little while longer, it is likely going to end soon.
While at TCA today for Fox’s panel presentation, network chief Kevin Reilly addressed the status of the show following its move to Fridays. While the numbers are down since the move (which was predicted given that Fridays are not a great night for such things), he did suggest that there are talks right now in place for the show to be renewed for another go-around. If this happens, then it is likely that the show will start to drift into the sunset at the end of season 10.
Obviously the disappointing part of this would be losing Emily Deschanel, David Boreanaz, and the rest of the great cast on TV, but there are at least advantages in knowing that the ending is coming ahead of time. It allows the writers to prepare for the end, and to give the show the sort of send-off it deserves. You don’t want to see anything go on so long that it starts to just go through the motions, and it’s amazing that “Bones” has held up as well as it has in recent years given that this is when shows do traditionally start to flutter and falter a little bit.
One thing that should aid “Bones” with its renewal is the great relationship that is there with creator Hart Hanson, who has another show in “Backstrom” that was just picked up by the network after being passed over by CBS early last year.
What do you think about this news, and will you be sad to see “Bones” drift off into the TV sunset? Let us know your thoughts below!

Bones has got to one of the best shows on t.v., in my opinion. I hope the powers-that-be, the ones who can keep Bones prevail. I have watched all the shows through Season 9 and and am catching up on the latest when possible.Great acting on the part of all and behind-the-scenes as well!

N no no… best of the best. It is not the’run of the mill’ TV series, always fresh, different twists and makes one think. It also teaches about finding things out as the solving of the crime evolves. Learning experience. Great cast and mind boggling plots. Keep it. Lately too many great shows have either been taken off or chosen not to return after great runs. And, they get replaced by the stupidity of mindless reality shows and/or shows with lousy casts and no plots.
