‘Glee’ season 5 spoilers: Lea Michele back at work, hints at ‘Cannonball’ announcement

Lea Michele is wasting no time at all following her return from a trip to Mexico to get the new year rolling with a lot of exciting things, beginning with some news for all for all of you “Glee” fans: She is already in the studio again recording some new music for the show! While it will probably be March at the earliest before you start to hear some of this on season 5, it does serve as a nice reminder that the show has no intentions at all of abandoning Rachel Berry and is looking to find her time in the spotlight.

For those curious, the one confirmed “Glee” number that we know Lea has coming up is a duet with Adam Lambert’s Starchild, This performance could come as early as one of the show’s first episodes back following the hiatus.

As for Lea’s own music, the big announcement confirmed on her Twitter account is more of an announcement about another announcement: She will be revealing something big when it comes to either her debut album “Louder” or her first single “Cannonball” tomorrow. Our guess? It involves a music video for “Cannonball”, given that this is the song that so many people have started to embrace already. We also know that Lea has already filmed the video, and has hyped it up extensively along with some of her live performances for the show. The song has yet to make a huge impact on the radio, but was not really expected to until this year in the first place thanks to the holiday music taking over most adult contemporary markets.

“Glee” officially returns on Tuesday, February 25 with new episodes, and we will have much more in the way of scoop before that.
