‘Duck Dynasty’ couple Willie, Korie Robertson give Fox News interview, talk Phil, A&E
It is definitely rather random when one of the biggest sells for your New Year’s Eve programming is a controversial interview involving the star of “Duck Dynasty.” However, after watching this interview with Fox News, we really have to say that there really was not that much here to talk about. The hosts were extremely hesitant to really press them (it was a holiday special, after all), and neither Willie nor Korie Robertson decided to really get too much into Phil’s suspension and reinstatement by A&E.
Willie was specifically asked for his thoughts on the recent headlines, and he mostly chose to walk the line and say that he is happy that it is over now:
“We’re just glad to be back to work. A&E and us are fine … We’re looking forward to breaking in the new year and starting [all over] again … I think we all learned a lot, and we are all ready to move on.”
Willie said that his father was probably at home asleep at the time of the interview (which took place just after 11:00 p.m. Eastern time), but that is all he really said about anything related to his dad. If this is the philosophy that he is going to take on the subject, we don’t think that we really see many more interviews from Willie leading up to the premiere of the new “Duck Dynasty” season on Wednesday, January 15.
As for what you can expect to see moving forward on the story, Korie at least offered up a brief tease:
“I think it’s going to be the same sort of fun, crazy stuff. I think you’re going to meet some new people; we just try to stick together and have fun.”
