‘Shameless’ season 4 spoilers: First details on the premiere

Have you been counting down the days until January 12? If you are a big-time fan of Showtime’s “Shameless,” we certainly understand why. This is when the series is going to air its first season 4 episode, and it has ultimately been quite a long time since we saw the show on the air.

So what can we tell you now about the premiere? First of all, the title here is “Simple Pleasures,” which does definitely feel appropriate when you think for a minute or two about the racy content of the series. This is going to be an episode needed to tie together loose ends from last year and create new tales for 2014, and the synopsis below (via SpoilerTV) suggests that they have every intention in the world of doing just that:

“Frank returns, disrupting life; Lip attends college; Ian is missing; Fiona tries to connect with Debbie and Carl.”

One of the questions that we are going to be asking ourselves throughout the upcoming fourth season is just how long they can keep the story fresh, and still have it as exciting as it once one. Even just three years ago when “Shameless” first came on the air, it was seen a little bit more as a show that pushed the envelope. While it hasn’t completely lost out on that edge now, it simply seems like it considering that there are so many other edgy programs on the air at the same time. But it still has a great cast led by Emmy Rossum and William H. Macy, and there are some great twists that this show has become known for already. We’ll just have to wait and see what the Gallagher family has in store for us in just a matter of two short weeks.
