ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 6, episode 9 preview: Stana Katic, Nathan Fillion, and a plastic surgeon

So what in the world is happening on Monday night’s “Castle“? The easy way to describe it is a murder of a person who looks a heck of a lot like another person. Or, to put it frankly, the murder of a person that looks a heck of a lot like Lanie. This is going to be a case that understandably puts the NYPD on edge, mostly because they have no real idea how to properly handle this.

We’ve already seen the tableau created for the Lanie lookalike in another sneak peek, so with that in mind, the focus here instead is on trying to figure out how this woman could have become someone else. This involves a visit to a plastic surgeon, who immediately starts off the discussion by telling Kate that she has a beautiful face … and then telling Nathan Fillion’s character that he has “potential.” Ouch. It’s a good thing that this is a fictional person who cannot be flamed on Twitter, since this would otherwise probably be somewhat of a bloodbath.

But there is at least a little bit of progress made in the case, as the surgeon admits that the victim brought in a photograph of someone in order to get some work done to try and look like them. She really did not perceive it to be something that was particularly unusual, given that she has received all sorts of strange requests before. However, the only difference between this and most other cases she receives is that traditionally, this surgeon tends to deal with celebrities rather that people want to idolize.

This episode is called “Disciple,” and for now it feels like the most mysterious case that we’ve had almost since the beginning of the season. We suspect that you will se more Lanie than usual, but for now her scenes are being kept under wraps.
