‘Duck Dynasty’ season 4, episode 8 review: When there’s a will, there’s a way
Sometimes, “Duck Dynasty” goes a little bit crazy in their desire to have both an A and a B storyline, and sometimes what you end up with as a result are two plots that really have almost nothing to do with each other at all. Basically, this is what we are looking at here with Wednesday night’s new episode.
The plot that entertained us the most involved some of the show’s goofier characters working to create what they believed was the ideal tease for their taste buds. There is just something so endearing about seeing the likes of Jase and Si suddenly believe that they are inner top chefs, and this also happens to be the sort of thing that we could really see them doing even when the cameras were not on.
As for the others story this week, it was not our favorite for one simple reason: It was something that was significantly more emotional, and almost a tad morbid when you think about the family talking a little bit about wills and what happens years down the road for the Robertson clan. Given that we see this show as more of a sitcom than a reality TV series at the moment, there are some things that we really don’t feel as though we need to see to be entertained. Then again, we do feel consistently bored by some of the stories involving Phil in comparison to the other plots that the show puts on TV, but we understand that there is also some necessity to it. You can’t just have every story be fun and games; otherwise, the silly won’t seem as silly.
