‘Survivor: Blood vs. Water’ video: Watch the first seven minutes of premiere!

Just in case you absolutely cannot wait to see some of “Survivor: Blood vs. Water” tonight, we have what should be a lovely little gift for you now: The first seven minutes of the episode!

In the video below, you can see where the competition begins for returning players and their loved ones as they are taken to the northern part of the Philippines (a slightly different location than the past two seasons), and then forced to do what they can in order to play the game with their family member in mind. The video shows the start of Day Zero, where the players all spend time with their loved one before the game actually begins. Think of it as an opportunity for producers to disorient players before they actually get into the game.

What is interesting is the time spent to really show the layers of each relationship. It takes all of three seconds for Hayden Moss to be revealed as the winner of “Big Brother,” and for Kat Edorsson to say that she wants to beat her boyfriend. Clearly, the most complex relationship of the pairs this season is Aras and Vytas Baskauskas, mostly because these guys have not always been on the same page most of their life. Vytas was apparently cruel to his brother early in life, and has also spent time in prison and dealt with a serious addiction to heroin. This could be an example of Vytas really looking for a separate sort of redemption in this game, and it will be an interesting story to watch unfold.
