‘The Newsroom’ season 2 finale spoilers: Jim meets up with a former flame (video)
On Sunday night, “The Newsroom” will wrap up season 2 with an episode that hopes to provide plenty of closure, but it will also ask some interesting questions. For one, is Maggie Jordan ever going to get her life going in the right direction again? This has possibly been the worst year imaginable for her, and for a number of reasons:
1. Not only did her friendship with Jim fall apart, but the entire incident with the “Sex and the City” tour bus was caught on tape, and she was embarrassed in a significant way.
2. Jim was dating her best friend Lisa at the time, and the two have had a falling out now thanks to her realizing that the two parties kissed. Maggie and Lisa are now living together, but are not exactly spending any time with each other.
3. The entire incident in Africa unfolded, where she basically feels responsible for the death of a young boy, who died on accident when a gunman was shooting for her instead.
In the video below, all three of these collide as Jim has a conversation with his ex Lisa, and learns that she and Maggie have not talked about anything. He encourages her to remedy that, and reminds her of all of the wonderful attributes that she has. Granted, we still don’t imagine Lisa feeling very good about herself given that her relationship with Jim ended thanks to Maggie; but maybe, there is a way for everyone to start to mend fences a bit here. We can’t exactly see Maggie and Lisa being best friends again, but they could maybe get more of an understanding.
