‘CSI’ season 14 spoilers: Matt Davis of ‘The Vampire Diaries’ checks in for recurring role
While Matt Davis did not have too much luck this past TV season with “Cult,” a show that was far and away better than the ratings ever showed, we are pleased now to see that he is landing on his feet without too much trouble at all.
According to TVLine, Davis, whose most-famous credit comes as Alaric from “The Vampire Diaries,” is going to appear on multiple episodes of “CSI” season 14 in the role of a man who has many layers. He will be a soft-spoken, charming, and even pensive guy underneath the surface, but those who barely know him will just see a strong-willed and competitive son of a fireman who is constantly interested in getting what he wants accomplished. His debut on the show will come in October, and it is not currently clear as to how he is going to end up clashing with the members of the “CSI” team.
Davis’ casting comes at a time when the show is celebrating both good and bad things. On the positive side of the coin, “CSI” is very close to their grand 300th episode spectacular, which is something that not many shows out there get a chance to cheer about. However, they have also had some recent drama behind the scenes as George Eads was suspended following a clash with a writer. We are going to see Marg Helgenberger return for the 300th episode, and Jason Priestley also recently agreed to sign on.
For those of you curious, Davis’ new gig does not render it impossible by any means that he will be gone from “The Vampire Diaries” forever. It will just depend on whether or not executive producer Julie Plec wants to have him on board.
