‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 5 spoilers: Nina Dobrev on Elena’s feeling towards Stefan
Who knew that Elena Gilbert may actually be a distant cousin of Spider-Man? Based on what feels almost like a spidey-sense that is going to be coming from her early on during “The Vampire Diaries” season 5, it’s at least rather fun to joke around about the possibility.
Speaking in a new interview with TV Guide, Nina Dobrev claims that it will not take her character too long at all to at least realize that there is something a little bit off about Paul Wesley’s “Stefan” when he resurfaces in Mystic Falls / Whitmore College, which could help to uncover where he really is and stop Silas from going around and terrorizing the few living people left that she loves:
“She has this weird feeling something is going on. It’s this cosmic connection you have with someone that you’ve spent so much time with and I don’t know if that will go away. She knows she’s in love with Damon, but she still cares for Stefan and wants to make sure he’s OK … and when she finds out what he’s been through [drowning over and over again], it’s not easy for her.”
For Wesley as an actor, this is almost akin to being handed a golden ticket. The good news for him with Silas is that he gets to play around a little bit with being evil, while on the other end, his Stefan is continually suffering something really horrible in addition to the heartbreak that he is surely going through.
“The Vampire Diaries” season 5 premieres on The CW Thursday, October 3, and it will be interesting to see if this story gets resolved regarding where Stefan really is during that time.
