NBC’s ‘Community’ season 5 spoilers: Rob Corddry, Joel McHale to reunite
After a rather extensive period of time waiting, we finally have some of the first casting news out there about the upcoming fifth season of “Community.” And as for who it pertains to, you do not have to look any further than Joel McHale’s Jeff Winger and an important person from his past.
According to TVLine, Rob Corddry (“Children’s Hospital”) is going to be returning for the premiere (which does not currently have a date) as Alan, the smarmy attorney who worked with Jeff years ago, and is also responsible for him having to go to Greendale Community College in the first place.
This news does raise some interesting questions about just what we are going to be seeing from the Jeff storyline early on this season, as creator Dan Harmon, returning to the show after a year away, has to find a way to make sure that this character gets back into Greendale in some shape or form to be near the study group. Could he be an attorney for the Dean? It’s possible, but the only other options include a teacher or some other member of the staff. (He may already be over-qualified to be a professor, based on some of the people that we’ve seen.)
For Harmon, he has to know that there are people chanting for more of the show the way that it once way, and that is what we expect him to present to the people. With Donald Glover leaving the show after only five episodes it makes sense for him to try and appease the loyal viewers with some names that should already be familiar to them.
Stay tuned all Human Beings, as we’ll have more from season 5 when it becomes available.
