‘Teen Wolf’ season 3, episode 11 review: The lunar eclipse cometh
“Teen Wolf” season 3 is nearing the end of its summer season, and this entire episode seemed to have many characters howling with fear. For one, concern was rampant that somehow, Deucalion was keeping Scott away from the rest of the group, and so the mystery came in as to whether or not he was going to be able to make it back to them, and still push forward to save his family … both literally and metaphorically.
But the emotions that we felt this week above any other, as we saw Derek take on challenges and his veins pop before our eyes, was heartbreak. This was one of those episodes that really reminded us that being a werewolf, which at times can be glamorous and cool on shows like these, is also a curse. Just look at the sort of suffering that comes as a result. Plus, the ice baths cannot be much fun, either.
The frustrating part of this episode, even more so than others, is that there really was no end to the story. We were submerged underneath the water, and then, we had a “to be continued” signal just as a newly-reunited Scott has his eyes turn yellow. As we brace an eclipse, we could be at the most troublesome time yet for these characters. Do you think that it’s a coincidence that this also happens to be near the time of the summer finale? We think not.
As we start to near the end of this summer season, it really does seem like the show is starting to really push onward and create something exciting. Will they be able to raise the stakes even more than they already have? That is going to be the challenge, especially after getting the warning of having darkness completely take over their hearts.
Before you take off from this article, be sure to check out our piece about all of things coming up on the second half of the season early next year. There are still plenty of reasons to be excited, after all.
