‘Pretty Little Liars’ season 4, episode 8 preview: Hanna, meet more bad news

The best way to describe “Pretty Little Liars” season 4 for Hanna so far is a steamroller of sadness, going very slowly over just about everything in her life. This trend started off from the moment that Detective Wilden was found dead, and then spiraled when the police started sniffing around Ashley, there was the issue of the gun, and then both she and her mom were brought in for trying to bury it.

While Hanna is not clearly out of the woods herself just yet when it comes to the legal process, she’s got some other problems to deal with right now … problems that include trying to figure out why her mother’s request for bail was denied, and why she is being moved to a state prison until the trial happens. It is just an example of everything going from bad to worse.

Spencer’s mother tells her that the reason for the bail drama is simply an issue of the judge in the case being cautious. They don’t want to see Ashley free, because then if she finds a way to run off, the blood is on her hands. But the most important thing to remember here is that for the time being, she is declaring herself not guilty. This means that there will be none of this taking a “self-defense” excuse for a crime that she did not commit, and we’re looking at an all-or-nothing kind of situation.
