NBC’s ‘Revolution’ season 2 spoilers: Nicole Ari Parker in as…
There’s another new face joining the fold on “Revolution” season 2, which has as of late casted so many people that we have almost started to think that they are putting together a completely new cast.
So who is the latest person joining the fold? Think former “Soul Food” actress Nicole Ari Parker. According to Deadline, she will be checking in for multiple episodes this coming season as Secretary Justine Allenford, someone who is described as a pretty effective leader and is strong and very intelligent. Given that the trailer that we saw at Comic-Con showed us hints that the American government is still somewhat alive in the midst of the blackout mess, we’re not surprised to be hearing the world “Secretary” bandied about in a way in which we think is somewhat political.
But could introducing more politics actually turn the show around in some way? This is what we’re not entirely surely about. Last year, some of the political conversations (at least the ones involving Miles and Monroe) were not as interesting as they could be, mostly because the mythology just wasn’t fleshed out enough. Political stories have to be more than just paint-by-numbers, and there was so much time wasted on the family stories, including some that we honestly cared next to nothing about, that the timing just was not there to make it happen.
“Revolution” season 2 will premiere on NBC Wednesday, September 25, where it will face what could be its greatest challenge yet: Not getting an opportunity to air alongside “The Voice.”
Want to also see who’s playing Rachel’s father on the upcoming season? It is a nice bit of casting scoop, and it does give potential to add a little bit more drama into this already-complicated family dynamic.
