Mini-scoops: ‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ season 5, ‘Criminal Minds’ season 9
Anyone ready to cheer for some CBS dramas out there? While neither one of these stories is necessarily substantial enough to merit an individual article on their own, they do each contain some stories that you should be very happy to know about. (Both of these notes come courtesy of TVLine.)
“NCIS: Los Angeles” – Let’s start first of all with the “NCIS” spin-off show, which is now entering its fifth season. We don’t even want to bury the lead here: Peter Cambor will be back as Nate! Given everything that transpired this past May, it seems appropriate to have him re-enter the picture and try to pick up some of the pieces.
As we expect with most other dramas of this kind, the “NCIS: LA” premiere will probably tackle more of the loose ends and the stories from last year pretty early on, and then start to push forward into what the story is at present.
“Criminal Minds” – While this story concerning the drama’s ninth season is related more towards directing rather than acting, we imagine that many of you who do appreciate it when stars go behind the camera will find a lot to look forward to here.
According to showrunner Erica Messer, both Thomas Gibson and Matthew Gray Gubler are on tap to direct episodes of the show this coming season. For Gibson, this would mark the second occasion in which the star has gone behind the camera for an episode. Meanwhile, Gubler has already done so on five occasions.
