Scarpetta season 2 premiere date: An April 2026 update

At some point between now and the end of the month are we going to get a proper Scarpetta season 2 premiere date over at Prime Video? What about more news on the future of the show in general?

Well, the first order of business here is noting that the Nicole Kidman series is 100% coming back, in the event you have not heard. Not only this, but it is also actively in production! The series smartly has decided to get far ahead of the game in the early going here, which is important for a couple of reasons. Not only do you probably need to get out in front of your leading lady’s incredibly-busy schedule, but it also benefits you to get some more flexibility for later on down the road.

Now when we are thinking here about some further announcements, this is where we do have to come back and say that more than likely, we are going to be waiting for a little while. If we are lucky, the second season will premiere around the late winter / spring window in 2027, that way the Amazon-owned streaming service can make the show into an annual event. Of course, it would be nice to have it more often than that, but we do have to be at least reasonably realistic with our expectations, no? There is no real reason to bring it back before then, even if the episodes are ready.

So while we are not likely to get more news on a premiere date this month, we do still wonder the following: When could we learn more when it comes to a possible season 3? We would not be shocked at all if news comes out about that before season 2 arrives.
