Following tonight’s big showcase for Dr. Charles, do you want to learn more about Chicago Med season 11 episode 17? Well, let’s just say that “Altered States” is going to be important for many reasons, especially when it comes to putting people in peril.

At this point, we do tend to think that this particular crew of doctors and nurses are used to helping even members of their own staff in need. Yet, you always have to remember along the way that every situation is different — and you just can’t assume that things are going to end up okay. Every single second here matters a great deal.

The doctors at Gaffney work to save one of their own in critical danger; Hannah finds herself at odds with the ob-gyn who will fill in for her maternity leave.

The Hannah storyline is another reminder that the writers are getting closer to a big change here — we do tend to think that something huge is going to be happening with her and this pregnancy story soon. The traditional expectation is of course that the birth happens in the finale, but could something different happen? We wouldn’t be altogether surprised just because of the fact that if you are one of the producers at this point, isn’t one of the goals to try and deliver something that nobody would expect? Well, from our vantage point we tend to think so.

Based on what we’ve seen with the schedule moving forward, our general feeling here is that once we get past episode 17, there could be another small hiatus; after that, let’s hope there are new installments the rest of the way.
