Daredevil: Born Again season 2 episode 4 preview: Two steps forward…

After the epic two-part event that we had this week, it makes all the sense in the world to want Daredevil: Born Again season 2 episode 4 to arrive soon.

So what is the story going to be here? Well, consider it yet another reminder that with every win either Matt Murdock or his alter ego has, other problems still stand in his way. You can argue that episode 3 marked at least some sort of victory over Fisk but at the same time, he still has a lot of control — not just thanks to his position of power, but his ability to have those who stand in his ways killed. What we’ve seen with the Night Crew is yet another example of that.

Where we tend to think the story is coming is a recognition, perhaps more and more over time, that Matt is going to need to be both himself as well as Daredevil to eventually stop Fisk’s reign of terror, and that the road getting there will be fraught with further problems. It also does take a village, and that does speak a little bit to the return of Jessica Jones this season.

The biggest thing that we can ultimately say is rather simple: We’ve got a ton of faith in the creative team at this point. The first season succeeded despite some obvious bumps in the road; however, the second season is cohesive, action-packed, and has an opportunity to truly shine more than ever. Let’s just hope that everyone involved is able to keep the momentum going in the way they have so far.
