Fargo season 6 renewal: A spring 2026 update

Is there a chance that we are going to hear anything more regarding a Fargo season 6 between now and the end of the spring?

Of course, this is one of those articles where we would love to be able to state right away that the crime anthology is 100% coming back for more. It has been a good while already since the fifth season aired and at this point, the folks at FX plus creator Noah Hawley have yet to say that much about what the next part of the story is going to look like … or even if it will absolutely happen. The most we’ve heard is that it is not necessarily being ruled out, but the top priority for now remains Hawley working on the second season of Alien: Earth, which will be filming this year.

Now, is there a universe where Hawley has some sort of idea for a Fargo season 6 cooked up in his head? Absolutely, and we do also think that one of the joys of this show comes from the fact that it can really return at any time. Because it is an anthology, it is story-dependent and can ebb and flow alongside what other projects Noah has going on. There is a small chance that we hear about a greenlight before the end of the spring, but for now, we’d say it feels doubtful — mostly because of what we said about Alien: Earth previously.

If there is a way to make a prediction here…

Well, let’s just say that given how this show usually films in the winter, it makes no sense for FX to even announce something until late this year — and that is assuming that the series will even come back anytime soon. The world is too good to not come back to eventually, but we hardly get the sense anyone is hurrying it along.
