Australian Survivor: Redemption episode 17 preview: Brooke keeps fighting

Australian Survivor: Redemption has shown itself at this point to be the stuff of greatness and really, we just have to hope it can keep the momentum it has already established.
After all, who would’ve thought Blanche, as non-threatening as anyone at this point, would be taking out in episode 16? Credit goes to Keeley for being bold enough to not just play an idol, but do it for Brooke. This is one of those moves that gains trust, but also gives her a chance to win if she and Brooke actually make it to the end together. (We’d still give it to Brooke, but it’s closer than it was before.)

Now that we’ve said all of this, though, we would by lying if we were to sit here and say that these two women are going to be smooth sailing moving forward. They are huge targets, and we’ve seen in particular how dead-set Ben seems to be on going after some returnees. He has his contingent, and Brooke / Keeley are going to need to figure out how to point some attention elsewhere. Getting Simon out may be a choice for them if they can’t get Ben, mostly in that he is an immunity threat who has played a whole lot better this season.
In general, we will sit here and say that Australian Survivor: Redemption is at least thriving on its unpredictability. We know that there are a group of people out there who are intent on trying to figure out the various nuances of the edit, but we give producers credit for making it a little more even than the US version of the show. Do not even get us started on what we’ve been seeing on Survivor 50, where a celebrity guest who appeared in one episode has more confessionals and standout moments than one of the contestants.
