Criminal Minds: Evolution season 20 renewal official at Paramount+

Following the big reveal of a Criminal Minds: Evolution season 19 premiere date over at Paramount+, we also have huge news to share about the future!

According to a report from Deadline, you are also going to be seeing the drama featuring Joe Mantegna, Paget Brewster, and so many others back for another batch of episodes. This will bring the franchise all the way to an incredible season 20, which is the stuff of legend for any shows in this genre. The early renewal means that the cast and crew can get back to work sooner rather than later, and that cements that a 2027 premiere date feels very much likely.

So what will that season look like? Who are some of the cast members going to be? These are things that we may not have a clear answer to for a rather long time. We just hope that all of the longtime core group will be back, and we do remain optimistic that some other familiar faces will turn up.

Is season 20 going to be the final one?

That is what we are stuck waiting to get more insight on, mostly because this is such a nice, round number and in a lot of ways, you can argue that this is the right time to say goodbye. However, we do remain eager to get as much of the show as the cast and crew are willing to throw out there. A lot will depend on the ratings, and the challenge there is that Paramount+ does not reveal any of this information publicly. With that, all we can really do is hold out a measure of hope regarding the future.
