Shrinking season 3 episode 9 sneak peek: Sofi meets Jimmy’s dad

Even though Sofi and Jimmy have only recently started to date on Shrinking season 3, are they already checking off big milestones? Well, consider the fact that she was there singing “A Thousand Years” while celebrating Tia, or that Jimmy got to spend a shockingly large amount of time with her ex. Their relationship has been awkward and atypical at times, but maybe that is for the best in the long-term? That remains to be seen.

For now, what we can say is that nothing is going to get any less weird in the immediate future, mostly because Cobie Smulders’ character will be spending a little bit of time with Jimmy’s dad Randy.

If you head over to Broadway World right now, you can see a new Shrinking sneak peek that gives you a good sense of what we are talking about here. Sofi gets to hear Randy talk about cars, which we know is basically his favorite thing in the entire world. He is complimentary towards her, but we wonder how much (if anything) Jimmy has actually told her about his dad so far. The two do not have the best relationship, and we also recognize that there are a handful of reasons for it dating all the way to Tia’s death. Our hope remains that before the season is over, there is going to be more opportunities to deal with that.

Of course, the fact that we are in the home stretch of said season does amplify the stakes a little bit, no? We are lucky to at least know already that a season 4 is coming, though it remains unclear as to when exactly production will begin for it.
