Is Matlock new tonight on CBS? We certainly would not blame anyone who wants more of the Kathy Bates series and soon. After all, there was such a long break during the Olympics earlier this year, and it came back not that long ago with new installments.
So with all of this in mind, where are things at now? Well, this is where we do have to come in here and share some of the bad news: There is no installment tonight. The plan instead is for it to return on April 2, which is after the early rounds of the NCAA Tournament. This is frustrating, though at the same time somewhat expected. It is, after all, what we have seen on the network for many years already at this time of year.

Now that we’ve spelled all this out, here is at least some of the good news. We have some newly-released information today on Matlock season 2 episode 12, and you can take a look at some of that below:
“The Cavalry Isn’t Coming” – The stakes are high when Matty represents one of Jacobson Moore’s own on trial amidst her and Edwin’s 50th wedding anniversary. Meanwhile, Olympia and Julian track down a scientist from the Wellbrexa lab, on MATLOCK, Thursday, April 2 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+ (live and on-demand for Paramount+ Premium plan subscribers, or on-demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the episode airs)*.
We do hope that there are some more opportunities to get closure on the Wellbrexa story soon, mostly because that has been a defining part of the first two seasons. Then again, if there is resolution there, what does the show really look like? Consider that the central paradox here.
