The Pitt season 3: An early tease from Noah Wyle?

We do recognize at this point that we have a long ways to go to see The Pitt season 3 arrive on HBO Max — after all, there’s a lot to air still from season 2!

However, one of the things that we’re more than a little aware of at this point is that working on a show like this is a full-time, year-round job, with story ideas for next season being churned out already. Season 3 will likely begin filming this summer (at least if the goal is to keep this an annual show), and you have to be as prepared as possible far in advance.

So what does that entail? Well, in part, it is tied to trying to take inspiration from things that are going on in the real world. Speaking to reporters (per Deadline) while at the Actor Awards, here is what star and executive producer Noah Wyle had to say:

When you have characters that are as rich and diverse and as multi-dimensional as the ones that we have, it’s very easy to just sort of plot them into the future and figure out what they would be struggling with at that point. But, obviously these cuts in Medicare, the ones that are going to affect Americans and put them off the rolls, hospital closures, there’s all sorts of very pressing issues that are facing hospitals and health care workers in America, and we’ve only scratched the surface.

We do tend to think that in general, every season of The Pitt will take on current events — but what could make them all the more special is how they are interspersed with things going on in each character’s personal life. We hope that there are new tidbits every time, and we are still expecting at least some sort of time jump here.
