Vanished season 2: Is it renewed, canceled over at MGM+?

Following the events of the season 1 finale on MGM+, is there a chance that a Vanished season 2 ends happening? Or, have we reached the end for the Sam Claflin – Kaley Cuoco series?
First and foremost, we should go ahead and note that there are a lot of people who may not have heard that much about the show at all yet — and for those people out there, why not set the stage further? Just take a look at the synopsis for the series itself:
When a couple’s trip to Paris takes a dark turn with the sudden disappearance of her boyfriend Tom (Claflin) aboard a train to the south of France, Alice (Cuoco) is plunged into a web of intrigue and danger, uncovering shocking secrets about the man she thought she knew.

So what could the future hold here?
Well, at the time of this writing no firm decision has been announced. However, at the same time it is unlikely that we are going to be getting more of Vanished in its current form. This was pitched from the start to be a limited series with a beginning, middle, and end, and we tend to think that this was a lot of the appeal for the people involved. For Cuoco in particular we’ve seen her opt for shorter series ever since the end of The Big Bang Theory; in addition to this show, she’s also done two seasons of Based on a True Story and The Flight Attendant, a great series that has unfortunately become rather forgotten in time.
We tend to think that rather than anticipating a second season with these particular performers, the more likely situation here is just that we have a chance to see an anthology break out, a story that could feature new characters but with relatively similar themes. We’ll just have to wait and see if something happens there.
