Silo season 3 premiere date: Two major reasons for wait

We are now into the second half of February and yet, we are still stuck waiting for news on Silo season 3. Is that frustrating? Beyond the shadow of a doubt! This is a show that we had hoped would be ready to go at this point — or, at the very least, have a date announced that is either in the late winter or the spring.
Because of all of this, we do join so many of you out there wondering the following question time and time again: What is taking so darn long? Well, from where we sit, it feels like there are a couple of notable reasons for what is a rather long wait here.

1. The long post-production window – Even though filming for season 3 actually wrapped last May, we had heard as late as last December that there was still work being done perfecting the episodes visually. This is a series that has at least some special effects, and there is a chance the next chapter has more of them than usual. After all, a big part of the story ahead is going to be about the origins of the Silo structures and if there was some nuclear war on the surface, that is something you may need to depict.
2. Finding space in the schedule – One thing that Apple clearly cares a lot about is spacing out a number of their big-time hits. For example, they have Monarch: Legacy of Monsters this month and after that, For All Mankind in March. Your Friends & Neighbors is scheduled to return in April, and then you have Sugar in June. Because May is still theoretically open here, we do still have a sliver of hope that the Rebecca Ferguson series will find a spot in there. If not, we could be waiting until late June or even July.
