The Pitt season 2 episode 7: The future of Santos, Garcia?
We recognize that with The Pitt season 2 on HBO Max being focused on the hospital, romance almost always comes secondary. Yet, we do appreciate the opportunity to get whatever assorted crumbs we can get on the show and its characters, and that does bring us to where we are now when it comes to Garcia and Santos.
If you have been watching the show religiously this season, then there have been clues regarding a relationship between the two. Take, for starters, the fact that Garcia seems to have a toothbrush back at Santos and Whittaker’s place. Or, the idea that she is taking a rain-check on coming over. What does all of this really mean for the two of them?

Well, if you are to take a closer look here, it feels clear that they have at least been seeing each other in some capacity for a while — a toothbrush does not come out of anywhere! However, is it really that serious as of yet? It feels like not everyone at the hospital knows about it, and you could make the argument that one of them may think that they are at a deeper stage of the relationship than the other. Santos seems to be the one bringing forward the invitation here, right?
Well, here is where things do get a little bit more complicated. Is it possible that Garcia is just afraid of being hurt? At this point that feels like a fair argument, mostly because Santos is the sort of person afraid of being vulnerable. Whenever the going gets tough, she gets brash and sarcastic. We’ve seen that she does have a capacity to care sometimes (see Whitaker), but it is really hard to break through. If we do get more of this potential romance moving forward, will this be one of the central themes? Time will tell…
