The Bachelorette: ABC to air special ahead of Taylor Frankie Paul season
As many of you may be aware, the new season of The Bachelorette featuring Taylor Frankie Paul is slated to premiere on ABC on March 22. With that, is there something more we can share today to better set the stage?
Well, let’s just say that the network has now officially confirmed that following the Oscars on March 15, there will be a special that features a lot of past leads doing their best to help the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star prepare for the road ahead.

In a statement, here is what ABC has to say about not just the special, but also those choosing to take part:
Ahead of the new season, 18 former Bachelorettes look back on their unforgettable journeys, share juicy behind-the-scenes stories, and offer heartfelt advice to the franchise’s newest leading lady, Taylor Frankie Paul. Featured Bachelorettes include Trista Sutter, Meredith Phillips, DeAnna Pappas, Ali Fedotowsky-Manno, Ashley Hebert-Rosenbaum, Emily Maynard-Johnson, Desiree Siegfried, Andi Dorfman-Hart, Kaitlyn Bristowe, JoJo Fletcher, Rachel Lindsay, Becca Kufrin, Hannah Brown-Woolard, Tayshia Adams, Katie Thurston, Rachel Recchia, Charity Lawson and Joan Vassos, the Golden Bachelorette.
Do we expect anything revelatory or earth-shattering from this? Not really and in general, we do not tend to think that most of these specials are out to do that sort of thing. Instead, this is just a way for the network to try to build enthusiasm for a season that may need it. That has less to do with the next lead, and more to do with the fact that this franchise has experienced a decline over the past several years amidst the rise of a lot of other competition. They have tried a few different things to shake up the formula over the past several years, but not all of the twists give us reason for optimism.
