House of the Dragon season 3 spoilers: More hype on ‘epic’ chapter

As many of you are likely aware at this point, a House of the Dragon season 3 is coming to HBO at some point this summer. We are really just waiting and see when and how it happens, and obviously, this is one of those things where figuring it out is easier said that done.
In terms of the story for the next chapter, we obviously know that there is a lot of discussion online around it already. Much of this stems from the rather abrupt way that season 2 ended, which was tied in some ways to the series having a shorter episode count than many expected in advance. The hope was to get the Battle of the Gullet — a very important moment from Fire & Blood — close to the end of the season. That did not happen and now, we are thinking it will be seen fairly early on in the next chapter.

Now, why not share more confirmation that this very thing is coming? Speaking in a recent episode of the Escape Hatch podcast, director Loni Peristere claimed that season 3 will pick up almost immediately where season 2 left off, and could end up being one of the most epic seasons of television ever made. It also is going to be coming perhaps sooner than we think, which honestly is a hard thing to claim since we already know that it is coming in the summer.
Obviously, those who have read Fire & Blood have a significant advantage in predicting the story ahead. Yet, at the same time we’re well-aware of the fact that this is one of those shows that has deviated from the source material already (much to the occasional chagrin of its own author).
