Emily in Paris season 6: Is it renewed, canceled over at Netflix?

Following the launch of season 5 today on Netflix, are we going to be seeing an Emily in Paris season 6 happen? Could this possibly be the end of the Lily Collins show?

One of the things that we are well-aware of at this point is rather simple: This has become one of the signature shows that the streaming service has. Sure, it may be ridiculous and over-the-top at times, but one of the real points of it is that it provides a unique sort of escapism that you really do not get in a lot of other places. The fifth season featured a lot of both Italy and France, giving it something that was very different from what we’ve seen so far — yet, it does seem like the show would be moving forward to having Paris be a central setting again.

Now that we’ve said that, this is where we will note that at present, there is no Emily in Paris renewal at this point — and we are waiting to see what will happen here. The streaming world can be incredible competitive and by virtue of that, nothing is guaranteed. However, at the same time, we do think that this one has been around long enough in order to end on its own terms. Netflix canceling the show outright would be incredibly frustrating, so we tend to think there will be at least one more metaphorical kick at the can.

Odds are, a decision on the future will come in the next few months, largely because there is no real reason to take longer than that. We would argue that season 6 would arrive at some point in 2027 — though the good thing about this show is that production can turn around significantly faster than a Stranger Things or one of the other effects-laden spectacles that the streamer has.
