Dexter: Resurrection season 2: Will New York Ripper appear?

At the end of the season finale for Dexter: Resurrection, we learned that Don Framt was the identity for the elusive New York Ripper. We saw Dexter leave behind a file with his name for Claudette Wallace, who has been desperate to catch him for a rather long time.

Given the way the first season ended, you can argue that there is no real need to feature the Ripper — now that she knows his name, Wallace could just capture him and that’s it. Yet, the latest information from showrunner Clyde Phillips suggests something a little bit different.

Speaking in a recent interview on the Dark Passenger podcast all about the franchise, Phillips noted that the Ripper will be a part of the next season. This obviously excites us, given that it opens the door to some sort of big name being cast. Regardless of if this is the Big Bad or not, we do hope personally that they still have a a fairly decent amount of screen time.

Hopefully, we are going to be learning more about Dexter: Resurrection season 2 at some point moving into the new year. We do think that with the success of the first season, it benefits Showtime to get the show out there in the relatively near future. We are also curious of course on the status of a few other people, with Lady Vengeance front and center. Is she really gone? We’ve already gone down a number of different rabbit holes already about this, and it is hard to imagine that this is going to stop soon. We at least know that Eric Stonestreet as Al is very much still out there.
