Monster season 4: Charlie Hunnam joins as Lizzie Borden’s father

Just days after the premiere of Monster: The Ed Gein Story, it is official that Charlie Hunnam is staying on board the franchise.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Sons of Anarchy alum has been cast in the upcoming fourth season based on the infamous case of Lizzie Borden. Hunnam will play Andrew Borden, who we know is one of the two people she was accused of murdering alongside her stepmother. We know that she was eventually acquitted, and we tend to think that the Netflix show (once again from Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan) will dive into everything that transpired around the case, both before and perhaps after.

Will this version of Monster be as compelling as the Ed Gein story? It is possible and yet, the life of Lizzie Borden has been told so many times that it may be hard to find a new slant. Then again, you can argue the same thing about other seasons of this show. Production for the fourth season is now underway, with Ella Beatty playing the title character. Some other members of the cast include Rebecca Hall and a Ryan Murphy favorite in Billie Lourd, who has appeared across a number of his shows.
When will the next chapter premiere on Netflix?
It would be great to see it arrive sooner rather than later, but the most likely window is at some point next fall. These shows can be turned around reasonably fast compared to other productions, and given how October is a time of year that often focuses on the macabre, it does make sense that they would get an element of spotlight around this time. Some more specifics surrounding the next premiere date are likely going to be made available as we look towards the summer.
