The Hunting Wives season 2: Is it renewed, canceled at Netflix?

Following what we are getting to see this week on Netflix, is there a chance that The Hunting Wives season 2 does end up happening?

Of course, there are a number of different things that we can say about this show, which certainly had a rather complicated road to being on the air. Originally this was planned as a Starz show that eventually found its way over to Netflix. The synopsis for it goes as follows:

Based on the bestselling novel by May Cobb, The Hunting Wives follows a woman as she and her family move from Boston to Texas. There, she grows close to a socialite — maybe too close — and becomes consumed by obsession, seduction, and murder.

So what are the chances of another season? Well, first and foremost, let’s just remember for a moment that there could in theory be more. However, at the same time, a lot of it is going to be coming down to viewership. One part of the equation is how many people watch overall; another part is tied to how many check out the finale in particular. That’s the sort of thing that really drives demand for getting to check out more episodes. The budget also has to be considered, and Netflix is one of those places that does take a rather algorithmic approach to things. That can be frustrating from the outside looking in, but we are more than prepared for it.

For the time being, let’s just say that we’re likely to get news on The Hunting Wives season 2 within a few months. That is how long Netflix tends to take to make these decisions, but in the case of some hits they do tend to figure things out a little bit sooner. We’ll just have to wait and see here.
