FX’s ‘The Americans’ finale spoilers: What to expect in ‘The Colonel’
We’re just one day away from the season finale for “The Americans,” so where is all of the media hype? It’s been a strange phenomenon watching this show fade away from the public eye so quickly. The ratings have not been great, but the quality has been consistently fantastic for everyone who has bold enough to give the series a chance and stuck with it despite all of the other options out there.
While we’re not going to spoil any major events from this episode, here are a few assorted details that we’ve learned about this finale that should make you want to tune in, even if you have missed a few weeks here and there:
1. Being that this is a finale, expect there to be plenty of surprises. We don’t want to try and compare the magnitude of the events to what we have seen from a pair of other finales earlier this week (in “Bones” and “The Following”), but they could leave you just as much on the edge of your seat, hungry for more.
2. According to a report from TVLine, there will be a key moment in the episode that revolves around the Jennings’ laundry room. We’re sure you remember just what happens in there.
3. Meanwhile, SpoilerTV reports on a pair of perfect misdirections. We will have a group of characters potentially worried about the wrong thing, and a character comes close to making an important discovery … but it is not going to be a character you expect.
We hope that over the summer more people have a chance to check out this series, since we’re not sure this level of buzz will be enough to get a season 3 renewal. Be sure to watch the finale to “The Americans” live: The last thing you want to do is have something like this spoiled, even by accident. If you want to watch the first promo for the season finale, you can do so over here.
