‘Royal Pains’ season 5 spoilers: ‘Community’s’ Danny Pudi scores role
As if there was not enough of a reason already to be excited about the upcoming fifth season of “Royal Pains,” there’s now the news that a certain star of “Community” will be entering the fold for what appears to be a “case of the week” sort of story.
TVLine is reporting that Danny Pudi, otherwise known as Abed Nadir on the NBC cult favorite, will be appearing in an episode of the USA drama as a radio-show host who starts to lose his voice before a big event, and HankMed of course has to try and find a way to fix the problem.
Given that the future of “Community” beyond this season is still unclear, it is hard to say whether or not we are going to have any more opportunities at all to see Abed beyond this spring. What is a little interesting about this particular show for Pudi to visit is that Dr. Jeremiah Sacani is in many ways the Abed of medicine, as he obsesses over every little detail and has problems when it comes to relating to the feelings of others.
The new season of “Royal Pains” will begin on June 12, and joining Pudi are guest stars Claire Coffee from “Grimm” (playing a woman who runs some sort of motel for dogs), and Tony Award-winning actor Stephen Spinella as Paige’s news boss. We heard earlier this summer that the character would be getting a different sort of employment this season, and this will therefore be an interesting story to watch.
